Leader and Founder of the Ghana Union Moment (GUM) and Life Assembly Worship Centre, Osofo Kyiri Abosom, legally known as Christian Kwabena Andrews, has asserted that the Electoral Commission cannot be held liable for its announcement that the next restricted registration would take place at district offices.
The Electoral Commission (EC) chair, Jean Adukwei Mensa, has been petitioned by the Minority political parties to overturn the commission’s decision to limit voter registration to just district officers.
About 1.5 million first-time voters are expected to participate in the election, according to the Commission.
The Minority parties caution that the EC’s action could result in the disenfranchisement of thousands of voters.
Kyiri Abosom said during an appearance on GHOne TV’s State of Affairs with Lantam Papanko that Ghanaians shouldn’t reject the EC hastily without understanding its motivations.
