It will be recalled that, the campaign team of the various presidential aspirants has been accusing each other since the beginning of their campaign towards the NPP Presidential primaries.
In the eve of the campaign, the former NPP Member of parliament for Oboasi East, Edward Annin who is a key member of the Kennedy Agyapong campaign alleged that, Kennedy Agyapong was offered an amount of $80,000,000 to step down for the Vice President to go unopposed and be declared as the flag bearer of the NPP.
In the same interview, he emphasized that, he was present when Kennedy Agyapong received a phone call from an elderly party stalwart to negotiate for his step down and receive the $80,000,000 which Kennedy Agyapong declined
In a recent interview granted by the presidential aspirant, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, answering an allegation leveled against him by Opare Ansah that he Kennedy Agyapong requested to be given a contract worth $500,000,000 as a compensation to step down for the Vice President Dr.Bawumiah.
Responding to the allegation, Kennedy Agyapong revealed that, he was even offered a cash amount of $800,000,000 to step down but declined and proceeded for the contest.
According to him, he in addition declined a running mate offer given him by the government and the reason is that, the good people of Ghana he is fighting for has informed him they will not vote for him as a running mate but rather a flag bearer.
He added that, he is bent on fighting for the NPP grassroots and the ordinary Ghanaian.
