The second lady, Samira Bawumia pulled off the inaugural edition Biennial Africa Women and Children Conference where stakeholders made a pledge to keep women and children in the fight against climate change.
In a recent post on her social media pages, Samira Bawumia, expressed her immense gratitude to the all participants and speakers at the conference as well as office of the president, UN, in Ghana for their unflinching support to this initiative.
Her post reads;
“The inaugural edition of the biennial Africa Women and Children Conference (AFRIWOCC) came to a close, yesterday, with the signing of a Conference Communique and a call to action by the UN Resident Coordinator in Ghana, H.E Charles Abani with pledges by all stakeholders to prioritize women and children in the fight against climate change.
Thank you to the many speakers from across the continent, our participants, and the teeming young people who joined us virtually.
To our partners, especially, the Office of the President; UN in Ghana; EU in Ghana; and our media partners; thank you for the immense support to this great cause.
We look forward to empowering our women and children for the betterment of our Great Continent of Africa.”
