According to a report by Accra-based TV3, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, the troubled former sanitation minister, had more cash concealed at one of her homes.
Eric Mawuena Egbeta, a journalist for the station, cited Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) sources who told TV3 that it took them five hours to count the most recent stockpile.
Although it is said that both her own apartment in Abelemkpe and official housing in Cantonments were searched, it is unknown which of the two homes contained the most recent sums.
“From the search at her residence yesterday (Monday, July 24), a lot more cash has been discovered and it took officials of the Special Prosecutor close to five hours alone in counting this amount of cash which was discovered in her home,” the journalist said in a stand-up piece in front of the offices of the OSP in Accra.
Some of the former minister’s family have also been questioned about the stolen funds from her Abelemkpe home, which caused her to retire from office and is the subject of the OSP’s present investigation.
