Ghanaians have been warned by President Akufo-Addo to be wary of politicians who try to take advantage of ethnic and religious feelings in order to forward their own agendas.
The President emphasized that these people are of no use to the country, especially when it comes to promoting peace, harmony, and diversity, as well as strengthening multiparty democracy.
Speaking to the chiefs and people of Bantama, Kumasi, on Wednesday, November 15, at the e-library project’s opening, President Akufo-Addo counseled voters to shun politicians that use polarizing strategies as the general election of 2024 draws near.
He emphasized how crucial it is to select leaders who possess expertise, a strong track record, and unflinching integrity.
President Akufo-Addo emphasised, “What matters most is that we give the nod to leaders whose competency, track record, and integrity cannot be doubted. We cannot entrust the destiny of the nation into the hands of incompetent leaders to the detriment of our sustainable growth.”
