Abraham Amaliba, the newly-appointed Director of Conflict Resolution for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed his perspective on the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer hopefuls.
He noted that two of the ten candidates, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong and Boakye Agyarko, are delivering commendable campaign messages. However, he believes these candidates may not receive the delegates’ votes.
The NPP is preparing for its super delegates conference on Saturday, August 26, where they will reduce the number of flagbearer hopefuls from ten to five.
Contributing to a discussion on this on the Big Issue on TV3 Friday, August 25, Mr Amaliba said “There are some candidates like Kwabena Agyepong and Boakye Agyarko who are striking the right notes but these are people who the delegates won’t vote for.”
Furthermore, the NPP has issued a warning to all delegates participating in the special delegates conference on Saturday, August 26, regarding the public display of cast ballots.
They have emphasized that such actions constitute a criminal offense, and individuals who breach this provision will face legal consequences in accordance with the law.
