Ghanaian singer, Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, widely acclaimed as Mzbel has acknowledged to receiving threats on her life as a result of her support for the NDC in the 2016 elections.
The music diva stated that she would no longer support the National Democratic Congress as she has in the past because she nearly lost her life in an interview with Caleb Nii Boye on Showbiz 92.7.
The “E dey bee” singer explained why she chose to heed the counsel of her devoted fan base and remain loyal to her fundamental identity as a performer and artist.
“I have been through a lot because of politics,” she expressed, her voice laced with a mixture of frustration and determination. “I have been attacked in traffic, I have been attacked at home, I have been attacked on stage. A grown woman actually egged me on stage because of politics,” MzBel recounted.
The singer of “Asibolanga” indicated that as a result of the exposure and learning, she will still support the political party, but in a different way.
The 43-year-old entertainer and businesswoman revealed her plan to support her preferred political party in alternative methods after drawing inspiration from her life-altering experiences. By doing this, she hopes to avoid the harsh criticism that dogged her previous endeavor.
