The Member of Parliament (MP) for the North Tongu constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has voiced his discontent over the government’s apparent neglect of flood victims.
He raised concerns about the lack of accommodation provisions for people in his constituency who were affected by the spillage of the Akosombo Dam, noting that many of them are now residing in schools.
The North Tongu Member of Parliament questioned why the government has not taken steps to compensate the flood victims who were displaced due to the Akosombo Dam spillage.
During a parliamentary session on November 8, 2023, he expressed his worry over the government’s apparent lack of commitment to announce a resettlement policy for those affected.
