In the Cecilia Dapaah case, five out of seven suspects have been remanded by an Accra Circuit Court.
Meanwhile, the remaining two suspects, who are lactating mothers, have each been granted a GH¢1 million bail with three sureties to be justified.
The accused are two house-helps of Cecilia Abena Dapaah and her husband, Daniel Osei Kuffour, who are on trial for allegedly stealing money and items worth millions of Ghana Cedis from their Abelemkpe residence.
The thefts reportedly took place between July and October 2022, and involved 18-year-old Patience Botwe and 30-year-old Sarah Agyei. Patience, the first accused (A1), also had her current and former boyfriends, as well as her father, summoned to the same court.
Following public outrage and demands for her to leave the government over allegations of illegal acquisition and storage of funds, Madam Dapaah eventually resigned from her position as the former minister of Sanitation and Water Resources.
