The eye witness reports by eye witnesses, according to them, the fire outbreak happened around midnight, and gutted a section of the market where cereals, poultry and vegetable products are sold.
The effects of the fire out break has destroy a lot of goods and food items in one particular session of the market.
Investments and capitals of the market women’s who were affected by the fire outbreak, has gone into drains and wasted.
The shocks of the artificial disaster, in Ashaiman main market, has caused a lot of pains into the hearts of the victims.
Some of the market women’s who are victims, have gone for loan facilities from banks, to invest into their businesses, and now the fire outbreak has ruins their investments and capitals.
Now, how to repay their bank loans,has become headache to the victims.
The Municipal Chief Executive of Ashaiman municipality,Hon Albert Boakye Okyere and the member of Parliament for Ashaiman constituency, the legislature Hon.Enerst Henry Norbey went around the market to sympathized with the victims and assured to help them hope of restoration.
The Municipal Assembly took the names of the victims to solicit for financial help for them.
Mr Ebenezer Yenzu the public relations officer (PRO) for GNFS said one of the headache
in Ashaiman Municipal Assembly is the decongestion of the streets in the market to salvage such future occurrences.
Due to an unauthorized settlement of certain structures,
haphazardly, blocks way especially at the entrance of the market, it took the fire tenders from industrial area, Tema Metro and Ashaiman stations about two and half hours to bring the fire under control due to hindrances, to access the fire scene.
Mr Ebenezer Yenzu, the Tema Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the GNFS, speaking to the media about the incident, he was particular about the persistent blockage of access routes in such public places which is a major challenge to the GNFS.
In his view he cautioned the public against the unpleasant settlement on way blocks for their own good.
The actuality of the caused of the fire outbreak has not been reveal to the public yet.
Some of the victims appealed for financial assistance, to restart their lost businesses, and be on track again.
