Akufo Addo is deceiving cocoa farmers-Minority- fires

The  communications  Bureau  in conjunction  with  Minority  Caucus  held Cocoa  Farmers  and  media  press conference , on  13th  September, 2023 at  Dadiesoaba  in  the  Ahafo  region.

The  objective  of  the  programme  is  to educates  hardworking  cocoa  farmers in  the country  on  truth  and  facts announced  of  cocoa  price in 2023/2024  cocoa season.

There  is  a  great  deception  in   a grand style  by  Akufo-Addo/Bawumia/NPP government  messing  up  the  already impoverished  cocoa  farmers  in  the country.

All  those  who  matters  in  the  NDC  was  paraded  at  the  programme,  the likes  of  lawyer  Sammy  Gyamfi  the national  communications  officer  of  the party, Hon Ato Forson  the minority leader  of  Parliament, Hon  Collins Dauda, Hon  Eric  Opoku etc

Most  of  the  chiefs  in  the  enclaves  and  some  NDC  supporters  were presence  at  the  programme.

Hon. Eric  Opoku  explain  deeper  with some  arithmetics  about  the exact increment  the  cocoa  farmers  deserves, he  said  looking  at  the  increments  of cocoa  prices  in  the  international market  because  cocoa  has  become scarcity.

A  bag of  cocoa  which  was  increased from  800.00 to 1,309.00  supposed  to be  over 2,000.00.

He  punched  the government  of  day that,  going  to IMF for $3 million dollars can  be  obtained  through  cocoa production.

He  continues  to  say  that  the government  does  not even  have  money  to  buy  cocoa  for exportation.

His  worried  was  about  the conflicting figures  quoted  by  president  Akufo Addo and cocoa board director,Mr Joseph Arhin Aidoo, wasn’t  in agreement.

Cocoa  spraying  have  not  been  done  by  more  than  two  years by  the government  of  the  day.

He  makes  reference  to  when  NDC  was  in  power  cocoa  spraying  was done to cocoa  farmers, most often.

Cocoa  bonuses  have  not  been  paid  to cocoa farmers,  by  the  government.

No, cocoa  roads  have  been constructed  by  the government

No,  cocoa  scholarship  to  be given  to cocoa farmers.

He  sighted  that  during  the  NDC era,there were roads,schools, and incentives  given  to cocoa farmers.

The  government of the day have not been  fair to cocoa farmers, in their cocoa production.
