The National President of the Ghana National Association of Teachers Rev Dr. Isaac Owusu is asking the government to explain why the Ministry of Education was sidelined in the formation of the Akosombo Dam spillage Inter-Ministerial Committee.
Speaking to SOMPA NEWS on the disaster, Rev Dr. Isaac Owusu said the students affected by the spillage must be extremely factored and that could be done by involving the Ministry of Education to take the needs of the students into consideration.
This was in support of the earlier calls by the Teacher Union for the government to declare a state of emergency to ensure more support from other countries could be provided for the needs of the people affected by the disaster.
He therefore urged the government to consider post disaster issues that would be encountered after the water current has receded.
